Disclaimer - A statement which may allow a person or corporation to avoid liability, if before or at the time of giving advice, that person or corporation makes it clear that he or she accepts no responsibility for his or her statement. Disclaimers are often found in disclosure documents (eg. prospectuses for collective investment products), to the effect that the manager of the product does not guarantee the level of performance of the fund or the return of capital to investors.
